Casa Forte Press proudly presents this extraordinary sequel to Hollingsworth’s first novella The Work, published last year by Casa Forte Press. Like his previous novella, Frankenstein’s Paradox takes you through the mystical landscapes of the fictional Utinahica in rural Georgia. This time, however, we are guided by a southern anti-hero we eventually come to know as Gator, whose odyssey from prison to “normal life” creates a circular conundrum he later explains through a jar of pickled sausages. Gator’s awakening is reminiscent of Stephen Daedalus’, but told in the ambiguous, wisecrack dialectics of the south. It’s rich, layered, entrancing and hilarious. Absolutely brilliant. Artwork by the artist himself.
